Deanna Mascle

English Instructor, Morehead Writing Project Site Director

About Me

My primary interests are:

~ Collaboration and negotiation in writing and education
~ Digital pedagogy
~ Connection between writing self efficacy and transfer

I teach general education writing classes (often on-line) and also serve on the General Education Writing Committee for the English Department. In addition, I regularly teach Technical Composition (the alternative to Writing II) and Creative Writing. I have also taught developmental writing in the past although not recently.

My position as the site director for the Morehead Writing Project includes pre- and post-grant award administration for federal- and state-grants as well as overseeing the program assistant, student fellow, and student worker. I work closely with MWP's Leadership Team (which includes 10 public school teachers) to administer in-service and outreach programs. In addition, I support the leadership of the Summer Institute and work with each year's graduate fellows during the follow-up year.

I am currently working on my PhD in Technical Communication and Rhetoric at Texas Tech University. I earned a BA in English from SUNY College at Plattsburgh, MS in Secondary Education from the University of Bridgeport, and MA in English from Eastern Kentucky University.
