Before she became the director of
the KIIS France Program in 1999,
Mary Jo Netherton traveled in
France extensively and taught with
KIIS four times. She is passionate
about all aspects of French culture
and conducts research on French
film, Joan of Arc, and new approach-
es to teaching French. She teaches
both French and Latin, and has fur-
ther interests in such issues as eating
disorders and body images dissatisfac-
tion.

Beth Crachiolo

Assistant Professor

Beth Crachiolo has been to France
several times, and Paris is one of her
favorite places. Her primary interest
is in medieval literature, but she also
teaches Renaissance literature and
General Studies courses like Western
Traditions. She is currently working
on a book about saints' lives in medi-
eval England.






Sylvia Henneberg

Assistant Professor
of English

Morehead State University

A German native, Sylvia Henneberg
spent time studying in Germany and
France before receiving her Ph.D. in
English at the University of Georgia.
She teaches American Literature,
Composition, and Women's Studies
at Morehead State University and is
currently conducting research on
women poets and aging. She has lived
in Paris and taught a group of KIIS
students there in the summer of 2000.



Rebecca King

Associate Professor
of French

Eastern Kentucky University

Having lived, studied, and worked in
Paris, Rebecca King will be partici-
pating in the KIIS France program
for the second time. At EKU she teach-
es all levels of courses in French lan-
guage, culture, and literature. She has
a special interest in poetry and also
teaches courses in phonetics and busi-

Robert Mitchell

Professor of Psychology

Eastern Kentucky University

Robert Mitchell's primary interests
are in animal cognition, particularly
that of primates, but he is specifically
interested in studying imitation, self-
recognition, deception, pretense, and
cross-modal skills in animals and hu-
mans. He has taught courses on his-
tory of psychology, statistics and re-
search methods, the origins of sexual
desire, and deception and pretense in
humans and animals. He has taught
twice before with the KIIS program
in France and has conducted research
at the Primate Center in Strasbourg,
France.
